Perfect Lemonade!

“Yay!” everyone yelled excitedly as Mrs Diack told us we were going to make lemonade. First we squeezed the lemons in the juicer. I could smell the delicious smell of fresh lemons. Everyone got to have a turn at juicing them. We got 1 and 1/3 cups of lemon juice.

Next we put it in a pot and put the same amount of sugar and the same amount of water. After that Room 4 went to the hall to cook it on the stove. Then everyone got a turn at mixing and stirring it with a wooden spoon. We had to be careful as the stove was very very hot. 

We put a couple of jugs of water in it then put it in the fridge to cool down. While we were waiting we went back to class and compared real lemonade to the recipe we used and found out that the real lemonade had no sugar! It had sweetener.It had no lemons either! It had all types of acid and other things.

After that was the exciting bit, we got to try the lemonade. Mrs Diack poured the lemonade into cups. Some people went up and got one cup for themselves and one for someone else until there was no more cups left for anyone else. We each got about ½ a cup each.

We waited for everyone to get a cup and tried it all together. Some people liked it, some people didn’t. Some people thought it was sour and lastly some people loved it. Everyone is different and that is ok.

I thought it was quite good but it was a bit sour. I saw that some people didn’t like it because of their faces. Not very many faces looked like this but some people’s faces were funny because they thought it was sour. Mia C was one of those people. It was really funny for me to see everyone's faces in the class trying the lemonade and hearing what they thought about it.

I took a recipe home to make it again because it was delicious for me and it said it served 6. It would be good in the summer because of the hotness. You could even make it and sell it by your house. I felt so happy when Mrs Diack said that we were going to make lemonade, I think everyone else did too.
