POST A COMMENT IF YOU DID ANYTHING FOR ANZAC DAY!
Haden and I got up this morning (very early for a holiday) and went to Nelson's Anzac Park for the Dawn Parade.
There was a march to Anzac Memorial Park led by the Nelson Highland Pipe Band followed by a Karakia. There was a special guest who was a former battle of Britain, Pilot. There was a youth speaker from Nelson College for Girls (my old college) doing a speech on the medics in the war. There were some other speakers and a beautiful trumpet tune. We got to sing the Australian Anthem (lucky I had the words) and then our national anthem. People had the opportunity to lay wreaths, which was very special.
It was a lovely time to remember New Zealanders and Australians who fought in wars around the world.

I marched in the Anzac parade.
from Lara.
Did you enjoy being a part of the parade. I wished we lived in Motueka so I could have seen you in the parade!
