7 a side football tournament

On the last Thursday of Term 2, 10 intrepid footballers from Rooms 4 and 5 set off to contest the Football World Cup- Nelson style! We were entered as Nigeria ( and actually did better than they did at the real World Cup!), and we played 5 other schools, who were representing Argentina, Brazil, Ivory Coast, Greece and Portugal. Sadly, we were only able to muster up the one draw (in our last game), but we still had a fantastic day.
A big thank you to Martin Ferguson and Leila Puata for providing transport, to Callum Seymour for being our referee, and to the team- what a great effort; a truly terrific day.
